Pixel Plankton

A self-branding case study - 2025

For this self-branding project, the goal was to establish a comprehensive creative direction: from naming and logo design to selecting a high-impact color palette and a well-defined tone of voice, capable of reflecting the soul of a contemporary studio deeply focused on the search for meaning. Pixel Plankton is a digital design agency built on a visceral contrast: the technical precision of the “Pixel” meets the organic nature of “Plankton”. The studio’s mission is encapsulated in the tagline “Small things, big moves”: converting technical expertise and integrated AI into tactile experiences and wonderful everyday gestures.

The main obstacle was the classic creative dilemma: effectively representing one’s own identity, vision, and skills. Designing for yourself requires the ability to step back and observe yourself from the outside. Strategically, the challenge lay in balancing the cold nature of technology with an organic feel. We paired digital concepts with a handmade calligraphic logo in a magenta shade that evokes the bioluminescence of plankton, a natural phenomenon that feels paradoxically digital, thus communicating both energy and wonder.
The final project delivered a complete brand identity set, featuring a custom logo design, a distinctive color palette, and defined guidelines for photography and visual style. By merging digital sensitivity with an organic footprint, the new brand positioning immediately communicates the studio’s full creative potential.
